The Poem and the Distant Elysium

Anyone who truly changes the world must be fundamentally driven by a purpose that transcends material comforts and philistine status.  In his heart, the visionary is constantly reciting and refining his poem, a poem about the distant Elysium that he only can visualize.  While dealing with the trivial tedium of today, the poet dreams during the day with open eyes.  But it is not enough just to dream, the dream must be articulated and embodied in order to move the hearts and minds of men and machines and money.  This is the purpose of the poem; the poem serves as a map, a rally, a bond, and a promise.  The poem is never really complete, as it evolves and awakens through experimentation and dedication into an epic.
