At some point in your startup journey, you will hear the chorus from both within and without that you must become more of a “real company” and adopt conventional Project Management, HR, and Sales Commission practices. I think entrepreneurs should be deathly afraid of “Frailty before Age” (未老先衰). If you do everything in the same way as 100+ year old BigCos with 1000+ employees, but you don’t have their reputation and economies of scale, then how can you possibly survive and thrive? To quote Steve Jobs, “Stay young, stay foolish.”
